Who’s on Your Team? Why Scaling Requires More Than Strategy
It is often said, “What got you here, won’t get you there.” If your goal is rapid revenue growth, you may need to level up—your team, your processes, and your mindset. The big question is: Do you have the right people in place to make that leap?
Scaling your business should be the responsibility of the entire team. As the leader of the organization, it is up to you to provide the strategy and align the correct team to implement and achieve the goals. With any luck, the team you have will scale and grow with you and the company. Ask yourself:
Does my team clearly understand the big-picture goals we’re striving toward?
Are they energized and motivated to embrace the opportunities that growth brings?
Do they have the skills and adaptability to perform at a higher level?
Can they confidently navigate the increased demands and complexities of scaling?
If your team isn’t hitting all four, it may be time to rethink your approach to building a high-performing organization.
Dan Sullivan nails this idea in his book Who Not How—the secret to growth isn’t figuring out how to do it all, but who can do it with you. What worked in the past, and the team that got you here, might not be enough to take you to that next level. It’s time to level up.
